New! Market Share – Spring Share – Summer Share – Fall Share
CSAs are a great way for the public to support small farms. Our expenses pile up at the beginning of the year, when we’re ordering seeds and supplies for the season. CSA customers buy their produce ahead of time by subscribing and paying before the season starts. This helps us afford everything we need to grow the vegetables. When the food comes in, customers get a bag each week of fresh, delicious vegetables picked just for them.

At Passage Creek Farm, we have three CSA seasons: Spring, Summer and Fall, which all told, span 28 weeks of the year (May to November). Customers have the option of full and half shares, except for the spring share, when only the half share is available. Egg shares (1 dozen per week) are additionally available throughout each CSA season, and during the summer, flower shares (1 bunch per week) are also available.

The full share is meant to satisfy the needs of a family of 4 or more, or two voracious vegetable eaters (think vegan or raw foodies). The half share is designed for two people who supplement their diets with vegetables, or a single person who eats a lot of veggies. Keep in mind that the shares vary in size throughout the season. During the peak of summer, for example, we like to give a little bit of everything we have available, so the bags can be quite full. We try to give as much information about preserving the harvest as we can, so that if the bags are too full, you can put some aside for the winter.

In all cases, we decide the contents of each week’s bag, mainly because if we were to take specific orders or requests, we would be so bogged down with extra labor that we would never get the bags delivered. The bags are picked up either in the town of Woodstock or at our farm. We are currently planning the 2010 season, so please check back for more information.
